Snap Judgment (sermon 2.10.19)

February 11, 2019

Can you snap? You probably can. Most people can snap.

What about snap judgments? Unfortunately, most of us are pretty good at that too. In fact, we may be making more snap judgments than ever before.

The text for this week's sermon comes from the end of the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus says, "Do not judge." But what does he mean? And is that even possible?

Snap Judgments are so easy to make, and they seem to cost us nothing. But is that really true? How do snap judgements impact the way we view neighbors, strangers, and even ourselves?

This week's sermon explores these questions and more....

"JESUS MAFA is a response to the New Testament readings from the Lectionary by a Christian community in Cameroon, Africa. Each of the readings were selected and adapted to dramatic interpretation by the community members. Photographs of their interpretations were made, and these were then transcribed to paintings.")
