The Carpenter's Table Community Outreach Center was formed in 2001 by a concerned group of people from Tyger River Presbyterian Church, Joy Lutheran Church and Nazareth Presbyterian Church. As a result, a food pantry was established to provide assistance to people suffering from food scarcity on the west side of Spartanburg County. In 2004, there were just 32 families served by the food pantry. Currently, our Outreach Center serves hundreds of households each month. Carpenter Table’s primary goal is to lessen hunger in our Upstate community by distributing food to those in need while providing information about nutritional /dietary issues and preserving the dignity of those served. Tyger River remains intimately involved in the Carpenter’s Table, working closely with both operations and fundraising.
Tyger River Presbyterian Church is responsible of running The Carpenter's Table every five Saturdays in 2023 (1/7, 2/11, 3/18, 4/22, 5/27, 7/1, 8/5, 9/9, 10/14, 11/18, 12/23).
The Carpenter's Table is open every Saturday from 9am to noon.
