What does “Stewardship” mean?  One definition says it refers to the responsible overseeing and protection of something considered worth caring for and preserving.  Furthermore, “Christian Stewardship” refers to the responsible management of resources that God has entrusted to us, including time, talent and treasure, for His glory and the betterment of others.

What does it mean to be “called” by God?  The word “called” in the Bible means God’s invitation to accept the benefits of salvation and to participate in His redemptive work in the world.  God gives us spiritual gifts to aid us in our call to service, and He distributes these gifts and then calls us into the Mission Field.  We discover our call to a specific area of service by walking closely with the Lord, practicing obedience, and offering ourselves as living sacrifices (Roman 12:1-2; Colossians 1:10).

When we celebrated our 25th anniversary in August 2023, our Session introduced 25 long and short-term goals for the next chapter here at The Tyger.  These goals are on display in the narthex, and you also received a refresher of these goals during the Christian Formation service last month.  Team Elders reported to you about what their teams are doing and invited you to find ways to connect with them. As a Stewardship Team, we also want to encourage you to get involved with these ministry opportunities. And we’re calling you to find out two things:  What have you been “called” to do?  And how may we help you “connect” your call?
