Director
of Youth and Family Ministries
Director
of Music
Part Time: 10-15 hours / week
Purpose of the Position: The Director of Youth & Family Ministries, in coordination with the Pastor and the Youth Team, will be responsible for implementing, overseeing, and directing youth and family ministries at Tyger River Presbyterian Church.
Qualifications:
1. Sense of calling to church ministry.
2. Bachelor’s degree in theology, ministry, or related field is preferred but not required
3. Commitment to the Christian faith, the goals of Tyger River Presbyterian Church, and to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment
4. Demonstrated experience working with youth and families in a ministry setting
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to collaborate effectively with church leadership and volunteers
7. Passion for guiding young individuals in their faith journey
8. Satisfactory completion of background check
Accountable to: The Director of Youth & Family Ministries reports to the Pastor, who will conduct an annual review for submission to the Personnel Team.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement engaging and spiritually enriching youth and family programs.
2. Lead weekly youth group and other relevant activities for youth and families.
3. Provide care and support to youth and their families, building strong relationships.
4. Collaborate with church leaders to align youth and family activities with the church’s mission and values.
5. Organize and execute outreach initiatives to connect with the broader community, including an annual Youth Mission Trip.
6. Mentor and guide youth in their spiritual journey and personal development.
7. Coordinate and oversee events, camps, and retreats for youth and families.
Part Time: 10-15 hours / week
Purpose of the Position: The Director of Music, in coordination with the Pastor and the Worship Team, will be responsible for implementing, overseeing, and conducting the music ministry at Tyger River Presbyterian Church, including Praise Band, Adult Choir, and Children’s Choir.
Qualifications:
1. Sense of calling to church ministry
2. Commitment to the Christian faith and goals of Tyger River Presbyterian Church
3. Love and concern for all people
4. Experience working with individuals across the life cycle
5. Teaching, recruiting, training, and management skills
6. Organizational, administrative, and budgeting skills
7. Familiarity with both traditional and contemporary church music
8. Proficiency in piano as a soloist and accompanist for choir and praise band and/or proficiency in other instruments and voice.
9. Satisfactory completion of background check
Accountable to: The Director of Music reports to the Pastor, who will conduct an annual review
for submission to the Personnel Team.
Responsibilities:
1. Work collaboratively with pastor, staff, and worship team to select music that complements and informs the theme and purpose of individual worship services and events and is consistent with Tyger River’s worship strategy and overall vision
2. Prepare for, schedule, and communicate practices for choir, praise band, and children’s choir
3. Integrate various components that serve to enhance and create meaningful experiences, including (but not limited to) the following:

Creative arts: Music drama, Art, Video

Special Events: Select participants; lead rehearsals; coordinate technical, facilities, and communication resources
4. Be actively involved in planning and leading music for the annual Vacation Bible School
5. Develop and maintain a worship budget with the assistance of the Worship Elder and Team
6. Submit selections for congregational hymns, choir anthems, offertory, praise band, and other music in a timely manner for inclusion in the bulletin and sanctuary screens.
7. Work with the Worship Elder and Team in planning events and worship series
8. Attend, and work with Worship Elder to set agenda for, monthly Worship Team meetings
