Tyger River Presbyterian Church is devoted to helping children grow in the life of faith. This commitment starts with our weekly Christian Education classes for children of all ages every Sunday at 9:00am. Our commitment doesn’t end there though. The information below provides more examples of our ministry to children, including how our children participate in the church’s service to the community.
Christian Education is a fundamental part of our ministry to children.
Christian Education classes are offered every Sunday morning at 9:00am for children of all ages.
In their classes, children study the same scripture that will be the focus of our worship together at 10:00am.
Childcare for ages Birth through three years old is available during both our Christian Education hour (9:00am)
and the Worship Service (10:00am).
Our Childcare is staffed with both trained employees and church volunteers.
All childcare workers and volunteers have completed our Safe Place Training program and have cleared a background check.
At Tyger River, our children are active participants and leaders in our worship. Every Worship Service includes a
“Time with Young Disciples,”
and our children frequently help lead worship, including singing with our Children’s Choir. Children ages 4 through 1st grade are invited to a special Children’s Worship class each Sunday following the “Time with Young Disciples.”
As a church, we believe children are an essential part of our service to the community and the world.
So we are constantly looking for ways for them to serve in Christ’s name.
For example, one Sunday a month our children help pack backpack food bags for children and families in need in our neighborhood. Read more about our Feed the Future ministry.
