The following protocol was approved by the Session at Tyger River for safely resuming in-person worship in our building.

Prior to the Service

1. No use of Sanctuary after the Thursday before Service.

2. Our Sanctuary is on its own ventilation system, and the fresh air intakes are fully open and operational.

3. All participants are asked to please let us know beforehand of their plans to attend. This will assist our volunteers in setting up and spacing our sanctuary seating. Please also let us know if you plan to use childcare (Birth – Kindergarten).

4. The Sanctuary will be cleaned and disinfected (including childcare classrooms).

5. Prior to Service, chairs will be set up and spaced appropriately.

6. Congregants are reminded to “please stay home” if experiencing fever, new or worsening symptoms of shortness of breath, cough, vomiting, or diarrhea…Or because of close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days.

 

During the Service

1. Attendees must wear a mask and maintain social distance.

2. A sanitization station will be set up at entrance with extra masks. An usher will be placed at the station to register attendance, and remind attendees of protocol.

3. For now, there will be no congregational singing.

4. If possible, outside doors will remain open.

5. Childcare volunteers will remain masked. Masks are optional for childcare children.

 

Please note

1. Weekly online services will still be posted for higher risk individuals and those not comfortable with in-person attendance. They will be shared by church email, Facebook, and available at thetyger.com/worship

2. If a service attendee tests positive, he/she should contact the church office (linda@thetyger.com). Names will be kept confidential.

3. In the event that someone who has attended a service tests positive, notification will be sent to attendees per CDC guidelines. Also in accordance with CDC protocol, the sanctuary will be closed to ensure thorough disinfection of the space.

4. The Health Team will continue to watch DHEC reporting and trending and will make additional recommendations to Session as needed.
